Re: outboard pod/bracket design this is a modification that i looked in to for my cabin boat as well. i decided against it because of the scale of the changes i would have to make are outside my capabilities on my boat.. An excellent and smart looking family or fishing boat. albatross mk 2 can be built as a centre console, or cuddy cabin with an outboard well or full or half pod.. Design by divtag weebly templates aluminum floatation pods - small aluminum floatation pods - small sku: $270.00. $270.00. these pods are ideally designed to be welded onto the boat. the drain plug in the pod should be taken out during welding to prevent welds from blowing out.. Would adding side pods to the boat help with side to side stability when moving or standing in the boat. i just built some pods out of aluminum and it does displace more water so that the boat does not sit so low. opinion, and view of individual users. boat design net does not necessarily endorse nor share the view of each individual. Ok so i built some pods for the back of my boat, they welded great and came together just as i wanted. problem lies with welding to the boat. the pods are .100" and the transom is .090ish". i'd say im a 4 out of 10 aluminum welder. i know enough to barely stay out of trouble. thanks, this is really stressing me out..
